“When we encounter difficult times in our lives,
often our initial strategy is to simply run away.
But we find that our troubles follow us.
Paradoxically, one of the best ways to heal
is to turn toward that which is injured within us.”
Jack Kornfield
At challenging times, it seems easier to ignore the pain and turn away from what's 'injured' within us. Indeed this may feel the only way to keep going.
Often we find that this strategy hasn't worked and what we haven't faced, comes back. It wants to be heard and seen. Until the pain is understood and 'digested', it can stop us in our growth and the enjoyment of life.
Healing isn't about getting over the pain. It's about making sense of it so it stops taking all the space in our life. The movement to healing is different for each of us. It may include counselling, coaching, mindfulness or a somatic practice such as Yoga. Or it may comprise a combination of these. It will always be unique to you.
I have experienced first-hand the benefits of these modalities at different times of my life. They helped me gain clarity, self-awareness, motivation to see the path ahead and strength to take the next step on it.
In my work I aim to offer this same support to you as my client.
